I believe that sport is a gateway to a healthy lifestyle and is a means by which individuals can develop skills that can be applied in both their personal and professional lives. My motivation for being a member of NSASH is therefore two-fold i.e. to have a voluntary role in a team that develops and encourages sport on St Helena and to progress it to participation in the international arena. For over 14 years my late husband and I voluntarily trained and prepared swimmers for various local and international competitions which culminated in swimmers participating in Commonwealth Games, Commonwealth Youth Games and Island Games

Sport is a catalyst for an active lifestyle and healthier living, values that as the Judo Coach on St Helena I hope to pass on to the youth.

I have competed in Judo on all levels and was a Coach.

I was a Team Selector & Manager for teams going to annual National Judo Competitions in South Africa and Commonwealth Judo Tournaments Internationally over a period of 40 years.  It is a privilege to be selected as a member of the NSASH team.
