The 2023 Natwest Guernsey Games Team
Team St Helena Guernsey 2023.
St Helena is competing in the NatWest International Island Games which will take place in Guernsey from the 8th to the 14th of July 2023. Once every two years athletes from 24 member Islands come together to compete in various sports. The opening of the race will take place at St Peter Port Seafront on the 8th of July.
This is our team and officials who will be representing St Helena in the Natwest Games in Guernsey.
Swimming
First Games experience: Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022. I think I was the youngest male swimmer competing at 14 years old. Competing in the International Island Games Guernsey 2023 events: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle. Commonwealth Youth Games Trinidad and Tobago 2023 events: 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle; 4x 100m mixed freestyle relay, 4 x 100m mixed medley relay.
First Games experience: Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 Competing in Guernsey 2023 events: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle; 100m IM; 50m butterfly; 100m backstroke. Commonwealth Youth Games Trinidad and Tobago 2023 events: 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle; 50m butterfly; 50m and 100m backstroke; 4x 100m mixed freestyle relay, 4 x 100m mixed medley relay.

Vivienne will compete in the International Island Games Guernsey 2023 events: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle.
Currently, a year 12 student in secondary school, studying A-levels
Athletics
Competing in the International Island Games Guernsey 2023 events: 100m and 200m, Commonwealth Youth Games Trinidad and Tobago 2023 events: 100m and 200m

Golf
Darren represented St Helena and competed in the Gotland Island games in 2017. Darren is playing with a handicap of 4. Darren has been an active member at his local Tidworth Garrisons Golf Club for the last 14 years where he represents the club in various competitions
Malcolm represented St. Helena in the Island Games in Jersey in 2015 and Gotland in 2017. He is a member of Sand Martins Golf Clubs in Berkshire UK and has a playing handicap of 6.
Team Officials
Simon is the Chairman of NSASH and is leading the team to Guernsey he has represented St Helena over the years Simon is the owner and director of Atlantic Outpost specialising in IT services, shirt printing, and engraving. Simon has competed in shooting for St Helena at 9 NatWest Island games, and 4 Commonwealth Games. Winning 6 medals in the NatWest Island Games. 3 golds, 2 silver and 1 bronze.
Michielle is the Secretary of the NSASH and has been part of the Association since September 2019. She attended the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022 as the Chef De Mission and will attend the 2023 Guernsey Island Games as the Athletics Official.
Christine Caswell has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Education and PGCE in Secondary Physical Education. She is the Head of the Physical Education Department at Prince Andrew School in St Helena. Christine is a member of the NSASH committee and also attended the Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 as a Swim Official.
Guy Collins is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Derby. Guy is a Registered Nurse with 30 years of experience in range of settings including emergency and pre-hospital care.
Guy lived in St Helena from 2005-2006 with his family. Guy was previously the nurse tutor on the island. He also supported the St Helena football team at the Island games in Anglesey.
