It’s a long way to Guernsey from St Helena.

After departing St Helena, the team finally arrived at London’s Heathrow Airport this morning with tired eyes after a long-haul British Airways flight from Johannesburg.

Since Saturday, it’s been calculated that the flying distance covered so far was approximately 8000 miles since leaving St Helena.

Since the teams Saturday’s departure from St Helena, the team had a night stopover in Johannesburg before catching the northbound overnight flight.

The majority of the team has now travelled to the Voco Hotel at the Majeski Stadium (which is the home of the Reading Football team) where they will catch up on some much-needed rest.

Tomorrow the team will be up early and they will be joined by the team Coach ready for training..

After a few days at the Voco Hotel, the team will make their way to Poole in Dorset on Friday, the 7th of July to meet up with the rest of the travelling team members in good time for the channel crossing on the PM ferry service to St Peter Port in Guernsey.

It is estimated that the arrival time in Gurnsey will be in the late afternoon, after the transfer to the accommodation, the team will prepare for the 2023 Island Games opening ceremony which will take place in St Peter Port at 1700 on Saturday
